One of the most common problems in diabetic patient was Coronary Heart diseases (CHD). Mortality risk of the Cardiovascular are three times higher in diabetic patient, and the life expectation decrease on all of the age referring with severity of disease. Coronary Heart Disease is one of the most complication in diabetic patient, that cause the number of mortality of more than 50% in those patient.
The aim of the research was to determine the relationship of diabetes and blood glucose regulation with Coronary Heart Disease.Design of the research was Cross Sectional with analytic observational study. The sample of the study were taken from medical record of dr. Soetomo hospital in July 2009.Eighty-three medical record were found to meet the inclusion criteria. They were 43 person with coronary heart disease and 35 person non coronary heart disease. CHD patient with DM are 39.58% and non-DM were 60.42%. there was a correlation between diabetes and CHD with p value=0.000, OR=10.81 CI:2.317- 50.429. There is a relationship between uncontrolled blood glucose regulation and CHD with P value=0,003 CI: 1.594-1.858Diabetes mellitus and blood glucose regulation have correlation with with the incidence of CHD. The incidence was found 38.58%. The risk of CHD increase 10.81 times in diabetic patient, while the risk of CHD increase 4,348 times patient with uncontrolled blood glucose regulation.
Key words: CHD, diabetes, blood glucose regulation
